Challenge<\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”7px”][vc_column_text]As proposed by\u00a0Parag Khanna of the New York Times, if the United States were divided along economic instead of state lines, the map would look quite different. How can\u00a0we best showcase these diverse economic\u00a0identities to build a sense of belonging within new boundaries?[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_column_text]\n

Solution<\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”7px”][vc_column_text]Drawing on the\u00a0optimistic poster design\u00a0of the late 1960s and 1970s,\u00a0we created a cohesive design system\u00a0that allowed us to build a family of\u00a0logos, each highlighting three natural resources or economic\u00a0strengths for\u00a0an region. Then we expand this layered, three-part structure to a\u00a0suite of posters. The piece of local architecture featured in\u00a0each poster mimics the symbols found in that region’s logo, while the background conveys an abstract, aspirational impression of that region’s landscape.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text]\n
